Purpose This study builds upon the Ports-to-Plains Corridor Interstate Feasibility Study (Ports-to-Plains Feasibility Study), which was required by House Bill 1079 and evaluated improvements that extend I-27 and upgrade the entire corridor to interstate standards. The purpose of this meeting is to introduce the I-27 Feasibility Study from Amarillo to Dumas, share existing conditions in the study area, and offer the opportunity to engage with the study team and share comments. TxDOT is inviting public input on the feasibility study's development, allowing participants to share valuable insights about their communities.
Description TxDOT’s Amarillo District is conducting a feasibility study to evaluate the potential upgrade of US 87/US 287 to interstate standards (I-27) from Amarillo to Dumas, covering US 87/US 287 in Randall, Potter and Moore counties from SL 335 in Amarillo to a logical terminus north of Dumas at US 287. In alignment with the Ports-to-Plains Corridor Interstate Feasibility Study, this study will analyze current and future transportation, safety, and mobility needs along the US 87/US 287 corridor, aiming to identify feasible concepts for upgrading the route to interstate standards.
Accessibility The public meetings will be conducted in English. If English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, you may need an interpreter or document translator; one will be provided to you upon request.
