SH 199 from I-820 Interchange to White Settlement Road
Currently under development are proposed improvements for the reconstruction and widening of State Highway 199 three lanes in each direction from the SH 199/I-820 interchange to University Drive and the construction of SH 199 to four lanes in each direction from University Drive to White Settlement Road. Pedestrian elements will be studied as part of the project.
The preliminary design and the environmental evaluation have begun with the goal to improve safety, mobility, capacity, and pedestrian access.
Public meetings and an opportunity for a public hearing will be conducted to collect input on the project. Information collected during the public involvement will be used to develop the project in a way that minimizes impacts on the community.
The estimated construction cost is $100 million, and construction could start as early as 2026.
