Notice of Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) Available for Public Review - I-35 from FM 3002 to Merle Wolfe Road/Mile Marker 1

Purpose:

TxDOT and the Federal Highway Administration has issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for the proposed I-35 Cooke County Project, and that the FONSI is available for public review.

Description:

The proposed project would widen I-35 from near FM 3002 to Merle Wolfe Road in Cooke County, Texas, and Love County, Oklahoma, respectively.

To avoid noise impacts that may result from future development adjacent to a proposed highway project, a traffic noise analysis is included in the final environmental assessment, which includes predicted noise impact contours for currently undeveloped areas. These impact contours are intended as a general guide to assist local planning officials and developers plan and construct new activities in locations that would not result in traffic noise impacts.

The lead agency under the National Environmental Policy Act for the proposed project is the Federal Highway Administration.
