Purpose:

The purpose of the virtual public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed improvements to US 82 from BU 82/ SH 37 junction to FM 412 in the City of Clarksville, Red River County, Texas. A pre-recorded presentation regarding the project will be available at the date and time above. The presentation will include both audio and visual components. Comments must be received by Aug. 28, 2020, to be part of the official record.

Description:

The purpose of the proposed project is to improve safety, mobility and regional connectivity, manage congestion and address roadway deficiencies. The US 82 (Clarksville Loop) Project extends from the BU 82/SH 37 junction to FM 412 in the City of Clarksville for a total project length of approximately 4.4 miles. Improvements consist of the widening of US 82 from a two-lane undivided rural highway to a four-lane divided rural highway. Other proposed improvements include reconstruction of interchanges, ramps and bridges, in addition to sidewalk, trail and drainage improvements.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
