The virtual public meeting began Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 5 p.m.
Purpose:
TxDOT is hosting a virtual public meeting for the proposed improvements to widen State Highway 349 (SH 349) from County Road 140 in Midland to Spur 576 in Rankin in Midland and Upton counties, Texas.
The virtual public meeting will consist of a virtual room and will include visual components. Please note the presentation will not be available on the website until the time and date listed above. Following the virtual public meeting, the presentation will remain available for viewing at the web address indicated above until Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.

Description:
The proposed project is anticipated to upgrade SH 349 corridor, from CR 140 in Midland to Spur 576 in Rankin, is about 50 miles in length. The proposed improvements to SH 349 would include widening to a four-lane divided highway, with two lanes in each direction, with a center median or barrier and turn lanes throughout the entire length of the project. It has not been determined how much additional right of way may be required or whether the project will involve construction in wetlands or floodplains.
