Mansfield, TX 76063 (Map

When:

Tuesday, July 16, 2019
6 - 8 p.m.

Purpose:

TxDOT is proposing the construction of US 287 frontage roads (northbound and southbound) within existing right of way, from north of Heritage Parkway to south of the Union Pacific Railroad and from south of Heritage Parkway to north of Lone Star Road. The purpose of the meeting is to present the proposed project and receive public comments. The public meeting will be an open house format with no formal presentation. Written comments must be submitted on or before July 31, 2019, to be part of the official record.

Description:

The purpose of the proposed project is to alleviate congestion, enhance safety and improve mobility. Approximately 1.1 acres of ROW will be required. It would not result in any residential or non-residential displacements. U-Turn lanes would be provided at the north and south ends of the project. Continuous sidewalks would be added to accommodate pedestrians as well as curb-and-gutter and drainage structures. Auxiliary lanes would be added to the US 287 mainlanes in both directions between Heritage Parkway and Lone Star Road. The existing southbound exit ramp and northbound entrance ramp between Heritage Parkway and Lone Star Road would be relocated to the north to meet current design criteria. Lone Star Road would be widened from two lanes to six lanes. A new eastbound Lone Star Road bridge would be added over the US 287 mainlanes for eastbound traffic and a new bridge would be added to accommodate the U-Turn lane.

Special Accommodation:

TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call (817) 370-6610 at least five working days prior to the meeting. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time to arrange.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
