Where:

Virtual Public Hearing will be available Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020 at 6 p.m.

When:

The virtual public hearing will be held on Thursday, Dec.10, 2020 at 6 p.m. and remain available online for viewing through Dec. 30, 2020. All comments must be received on or before Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020. This will be a virtual public hearing via a pre-recorded video presentation.

The in-person option will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendance at the in-person hearing will be by appointment only.

Purpose:

The purpose of the virtual public hearing is to present the proposed US 67 Lake Ridge Parkway improvements and solicit public comments. The virtual public hearing will begin at 6 p.m. Materials will consist of a video presentation explaining the proposed project, which includes both audio and video components, along with other exhibits and materials for review. Comments may be provided by mail, email, or voicemail as described in the notice and on the virtual public hearing website.

Description:

The proposed US 67 project improvements would consist of the construction of a grade-separated interchange at Lake Ridge Parkway with an overpass at US 67 and would include six 12-foot lanes (three in each direction), 10-foot raised median, curb and gutter, and Texas U-turns. The existing ramps within the project area would be converted to an X-ramp pattern design for Lake Ridge Parkway. The proposed improvements would also include reconstruction of US 67 mainlanes and frontage roads, from north of Shiloh Road to south of Mt. Lebanon Road. The proposed US 67 mainlanes would consist of four 12-foot lanes (two in each direction), 22-foot inside shoulder, and 10- foot outside shoulders. Twenty six-foot wide inside grassy median separates the northbound and southbound mainlanes. The 22-foot inside shoulder would be restriped in the future to add one additional travel lane in each direction. The proposed northbound and southbound frontage roads would consist of two 12-foot lanes and 8-foot inside and outside shoulders.

The proposed project would require approximately 60.38 acres of new right of way along US 67 from north of Shiloh Road to south of Mount Lebanon Road, to accommodate the Phase I interchange project improvements, staging area for construction and ROW preservation for future construction of the ultimate interchange facility (final phase). The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, displace one non-residential structure. No residential displacements are anticipated.

How to sign up for     in-person hearing:

TxDOT is providing an in-person option for individuals who would like to participate in-person instead of on-line. Attendees at the in-person option will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the on-line public hearing, review hard copies of project materials, and leave written comments. The in-person option will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the TxDOT Cedar Hill Maintenance Facility, located at 1424 High Meadows Way, Cedar Hill, Texas 75104.  Attendance at the in-person option will be by appointment only. Individuals wishing to attend the in-person option may call (832) 260-3712 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, to make an appointment and receive further instructions regarding the in-person option. In recognition of COVID-19, enhanced safety measures will be applied at the in-person option, including a requirement to wear a face mask, submit to a temperature check prior to entry, have an appointment and follow social distancing practices. If anyone arrives without an appointment they may be asked to wait outside to ensure we maintain appropriate occupancy within the hearing room.

    Special     Accommodations:

The virtual public hearing and in-person option will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the virtual public hearing or in-person option, please contact (214) 320-4480 no later than Monday December 7, 2020. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
