Purpose:
The purpose of the public hearing is to present the proposed improvements and gather public input for the intersection of I-10 at FM 3180 in Chambers County, Texas. An open house will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. where displays will be available for viewing and the public may come at their convenience. The public hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m., which includes a formal presentation and comment period. Comments must be received on or before Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, to be a part of the official hearing record.
Description:
Proposed improvements include the following:
- Reconfigure the I-10 and FM 3180 intersection by reconstructing I-10 as an overpass across FM 3180; currently, FM 3180 is an overpass across I-10
- Widen FM 3180 from two lanes to four lanes
- Install traffic signals at the intersection of FM 3180 and I-10 frontage roads
- Widen the I-10 frontage road bridges over Cotton Bayou
All work would occur within the existing right of way (ROW). No additional ROW, permanent/temporary easements are required; therefore, no displacements or relocations of residences and businesses are necessary.

The public hearing will be conducted in English. Requests should be made at least five days before the event. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs.
Memorandum of Understanding:
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
