Roadside Chat:

Join TxDOT on Sept. 24, 2020 for another exciting webinar about our Texas-sized discoveries. In this Roadside Chat, archeologists will give you a sneak preview into upcoming work in the field. Your input will help us map out how to preserve archeological stories in Austin County, Colorado County and Newton County. You are an important part of the historic preservation process!

For the main presentation, TxDOT will dig into the mystery of 500-year-old Caddo village that had been previously forgotten on current maps! Learn about how TxDOT Archeology “re-discovered” the lost the archeological site by digging into archival records. TxDOT’s excavations also uncovered unique artifacts that date the Caddo’s interaction with European explorers further back in time than what was previously documented.

Join our webinar and find out what this could mean about our understanding of Caddo culture and Texas History. Register here.
