Houston Traffic Safety Coalition

The Houston Traffic Safety Coalition was founded in 2019 by the TxDOT Behavioral Traffic Safety Section in the Houston District. Comprised of different government, nonprofit, and business agencies along with citizens to work together to make Houston District roads safer and its users smarter.

Mission statement

The mission of the Houston Traffic Safety Coalition is to further safe mobility in the Houston District through innovation, education, and partnerships.

Vision statement

Our current focus areas include but are not limited to impaired and distracted driving, pedestrian safety, bike safety, speeding, and occupant protection. As the Coalition grows and new challenges arise, we will pivot to meet the safety needs of human mobility and continue to work toward zero fatalities and injuries on the roads and trails in the Houston area: Harris, Montgomery, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Waller counties.

Meetings

The coalition meets on the last Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. The meetings are usually in person with a webinar component but due to COVID the meetings are 100% webinar-based for now.
