You will encounter a variety of road signs while driving in Texas. Shapes and colors identify the type of information on the sign to help you safely reach your destination.
Warning signs
- Yellow or orange background.
- Usually round, diamond, or pentagon shape.
- Indicates unexpected conditions or changes.
Regulatory signs
- Red, black, or white background.
- Usually triangle, octagon, or vertical rectangle shape.
- Displays traffic laws.
Point of interest signs
- Green, blue, or brown background.
- Usually horizontal rectangle shape.
- Provides helpful or interesting information.
