Open House: 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Presentation: 5:45 p.m.
TxDOT is proposing to make improvements to US 377 (Main Street) in Brownwood. In a previous public meeting, held on July 13, 2017, the agency received valuable input from the public and affected property owners. TxDOT took the concerns raised at that public meeting and made changes to the preliminary design of the proposed project. The proposed new limits of the project begin at Lipscomb Street and extend to the intersection of FM 2524 (Austin Avenue). Interested citizens are encouraged to attend to ask questions and provide comments for consideration as TxDOT moves forward with the design.
Proposed improvements include the following:
- Reconstruction of pavement
- Adding a center-turn lane
- Upgrade of sidewalk and ADA ramps to meet current standards
- Drainage improvements
- Improvements to the intersection with Austin Avenue for turning movements
TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The meeting will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call (325) 643-0413 at least five working days prior to the meeting. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
