Purpose:
The purpose of the public meeting is to present the proposed project to the public and receive comments. Comments must be received on or before Nov. 8, 2018 in order to be part of the official public meeting record. The meeting will be an open house format where the public may come and go at their convenience. Staff will be available to answer questions and take comments.
Description:
The proposed project would construct a new frontage road near Kirby Lake and proposed auxiliary lane along US 83/84. The proposed improvements will require additional right-of-way but will not result in commercial and residential displacements within the project limits. Written comments may be submitted for a period of 15 calendar days, by Nov. 8, 2018, following the meeting by mail to TxDOT Abilene District, 4250 N. Clack Street, TX 79601.

Persons interested in attending who have special communication needs or needs an interpreter, are encouraged to contact the TxDOT Abilene District Public Information Office at (325) 676-6817. Requests should be made at least two days prior to the public meeting.
Memorandum of Understanding:
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
