Connecting Career Pathways Program

TxDOT has designed the Connecting Career Pathways (CCP) Program to introduce and integrate transportation infrastructure awareness and career exploration activities and experiences in K-12 classrooms. Through innovative and interactive initiatives, this program will connect current curriculum and skill-building to pathways into the industry.
CCP aims to collaborate with educators and educational stakeholders to:
- Promote and support awareness of transportation-related careers and post-secondary education pathways to increase visibility and understanding.
- Increase the availability of exploration activities, curriculum, programs of study, and interactive learning experiences for students at all levels of learning while decreasing barriers to access and retention.
- Increase the availability of exploration activities, curriculum, programs of study, and interactive learning experiences for students at all levels of learning while decreasing barriers to access and retention.
Ways to participate
- Visit K-12 classrooms to showcase transportation career opportunities.
- Facilitate field trips to create interactive transportation infrastructure-related experiences for students.
- Participate in TxDOT summer transportation camps as guest speakers and session instructors.
- Participate in career and technical education programming to prepare students for transportation career opportunities.
