SH 27 at FM 473 will soon see new intersection configuration

Project will remove conflict points to improve safety

KENDALL COUNTY- The Texas Department of Transportation will reconstruct the intersection of SH 27 at FM 473, beginning Monday, April 22.

The $3 million project will remove existing conflict points by constructing a direct path from westbound SH 27 to eastbound FM 473, which will improve safety and mobility at this busy intersection. SH 27 will also be resurfaced, and new pavement markings installed between US 87 and the Kendall/Kerr County line.

Additionally, work on the Cypress Creek Bridge will include pavement repairs, joint replacement, and guard rail replacement, as well as construction of curb, gutter, and pedestrian ramps.

Work will occur between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Advance warning signs will be placed in the area to notify the traveling public of the work zone. Clark Construction of San Antonio is the contractor. The project is expected to be complete in November 2024.
