Bridge replacement to begin on SH 156

Project completion estimated for July 2027

SAN JACINTO COUNTY – Motorists along State Highway 156 between Point Blank and Cold Spring should exercise caution as work on a bridge-replacement project will soon be underway.

Barricades are already in place for the $4.3 million project in which a new bridge will be installed at the Stephen Creek crossing between Beaver Den Drive and Creekwood Bend Court approximately 4.7 miles south of Point Blank. Hawkins, Texas-based Skyline Bridge, LLC. is the contractor for the project.

This work is expected to be completed in July 2027, weather permitting.

Drivers should be alert for workers and equipment moving in the area. Be sure to obey all traffic controls in the area and plan for delays.

Additional information about the project will be released as necessary. The status of this and other projects can be viewed using the TxDOT’s Project Tracker.
