Open House - Pharr Rural Transportation Improvement Program

Purpose: | TxDOT will conduct a public meeting to provide information concerning the 2017-2020 Rural Transportation Improvement Program (RTIP). The RTIP is a listing of highway and transit projects in the TxDOT Pharr District funded for construction between the fiscal years 2017-2020 outside of the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) jurisdictions of Hidalgo County, Harlingen-San Benito and Brownsville. The TxDOT Pharr District includes the counties of Brooks, Cameron, Hidalgo, Jim Hogg, Kenedy, Starr, Willacy and Zapata.
The Rural Transportation Improvement Program is a staged, multiyear program of projects proposed for funding by federal and state sources during the next four years. These meetings offer public officials and interested citizens an opportunity to comment on the RTIP which will be incorporated into the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). All interested citizens are invited to attend these public meetings. Verbal and written comments from the public regarding the 2017-2020 Rural Transportation Improvement Program are requested. Written comments can be submitted either in person, by email, fax at (956) 702-6110 or by mail to: Texas Department of Transportation - Pharr District Comments should be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016. Requests should be made at least 72 hours prior to the date of the public meeting that they plan to attend. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate those needs. |
