Description The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is proposing to widen 3.5 miles of FM 3362 and FM 2061 (Jackson Rd.) from SH 495 to Hall Acres Rd. This segment of the roadway is currently two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane and serves as an important route for both commercial and residential traffic for the cities of Pharr and McAllen and the broader region. TxDOT is proposing to widen the road to three lanes in each direction with a raised median, provide dedicated turn lanes, construct pedestrian and bicycle paths, and improve intersections. The purpose of the proposed project is to improve traffic flow and enhance safety to support increasing traffic volumes due to growth in the area.
Accessibility TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The virtual public meeting and in-person option will be conducted in English and Spanish. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please contact the Public Involvement Specialist at 956-702-6161 no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
