| Purpose | The purpose of the public meeting is to present the study to the public and receive comments. TxDOT is conducting the I-45N: Beltway 8 North to Loop 336 South (Conroe) Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study in Harris and Montgomery Counties. The virtual and in-person meeting will consist of the same narrated presentation by the study team, study exhibits and other information, and an opportunity to comment. |
| Description | The purpose of the I-45N PEL Study is to explore transportation alternatives to address the growing safety, mobility, and connectivity needs along the corridor due to the projected population and employment growth in the greater Houston region. The study corridor has been identified as a 24-mile stretch of I-45 North from Beltway 8 North to Loop 336 South. The purpose of this third public meeting is to provide an opportunity for the community to review and comment on the reasonable alternatives developed to address the I-45N corridor needs and the evaluation process that will be used to identify the recommended alternative(s). A series of public meetings were held in 2018 and 2019 and public input from those events has been considered in the study findings. No changes will be made to the existing roadway at this time. |

| Memorandum of Understanding | As provided for by 23 CFR 450.212, 23 CFR 450.318, and Appendix A to 23 CFR Part 450, the results or decisions of this Planning and Environmental Linkages Study may be incorporated into or used as part of the review of one or more projects under the National Environmental Policy Act, which would be carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 USC 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT. |
