Public Hearing - I-69 South/I-610 West Interchange

Purpose: The purpose of the public hearing is to present proposed improvements to the I-69 South/I-610 West interchange in Harris County and receive public comments.
   
Description: The proposed project will reconstruct the I-69 South/I-610 West interchange. Improvements are expected to increase safety, reduce congestion and improve traffic flow. Construction will occur in three phases:

Phase One
  • Construct I-610 southbound to US 59 northbound connector
  • Construct I-610 northbound to US 59 southbound connector
  • Construct US 59 northbound to I-610 southbound connector
  • Construct Westheimer ramp to US 59 southbound
  • Construct US 59 southbound exit ramp to Chimney Rock
  • Realign Post Oak Boulevard with METRO accommodations
  • Realign I-610 southbound to US 59 southbound connector
  • Restripe I-610 northbound to US 59 northbound connector
Phase Two
  • Reconstruct US 59 northbound to I-610 northbound connector
  • Reconstruct US 59 southbound to I-610 southbound connector
Phase Three
  • Reconstruct I-610 main lane bridge
The proposed project would require 2.4 acres of additional right of way and includes one commercial property displacement. Maps and information will be displayed during the open house period.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant of 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
