I-69 South/I-610 West Interchange Reconstruction

Existing Conditions

The I-69/I-610 interchange is a major connection point of two extremely busy highways serving the greater Houston area. I-69 (formerly US 59) provides access to inner loop developments, downtown and residential/commercial developments. I-610 is a loop circling downtown Houston. The west portion of the loop in the vicinity of the interchange provides access to Memorial Park, the Galleria and the City of Bellaire.

Proposed Improvements

The interchange improvements presented at the April 18, 2012 public meeting remain the same but is now proposed to be constructed as one project, which includes the following:

  • Reconstruct the I-610 West and I-69 South interchange
  • Construct Westheimer ramp to US 59 southbound
  • Construct I-69 southbound Exit Ramp to Chimney Rock
  • Construct realigned Post Oak Boulelvard with METRO accommodations
  • Reconstruct I-610 mainlane bridge
