Purpose | The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is conducting a study to evaluate the existing travel patterns and identify operational improvements on Interstate (I) 10 (Katy Freeway) from East of State Highway (SH) 6 to West of SH 99 in Harris County, Texas. |
Description | I-10 between the study’s limits is currently experiencing congestion during peak travel times. Due to traffic congestion and other operation issues, there are collision hot spots with crash rates above both the state and national averages. Due to projected population growth and land use development anticipated in the study area, traffic congestion is anticipated to worsen. Potential operational improvements, or alternatives, will be developed in this study for I-10 based on public and stakeholder input, analysis of existing travel demand (origin destination data), and current and future travel patterns, including crash data. The purpose of the public meeting is to present existing conditions information and solicit community input to identify transportation-related issues within the study limits. Any environmental documentation or studies, maps and drawings showing the study location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the study are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the TxDOT Houston District Office located at 7600 Washington Avenue, Houston, TX 77007. Study materials are also available online at www.txdot.gov/projects/hearings-meetings.html. These materials will also be available in hard copy form for review at the in-person. |

If you need an interpreter or document translator because English or Spanish is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English or Spanish, one will be provided to you free-of-charge.
