US 54 Extension Project from Kenworthy Street to FM 2529 (McCombs Street)

Purpose | The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is proposing to improve United States Highway (US) 54 from Kenworthy Street to Farm-to-Market (FM) 2529 (McCombs Street) in El Paso County, Texas. The Department is notifying you of an opportunity to comment as part of the environmental review process for this project. |
Description | The proposed project includes the extension of the existing mainlanes into a four-lane divided roadway, the construction/reconfiguration of entrance/exit ramps to service the new four-lane roadway from Kenworthy Street to approximately 0.321 mile north of FM 2529 (McCombs Street) and the construction of overpasses at the intersections of US 54 and both Sean Haggerty Drive and FM 2529 (McCombs Street). Any environmental documentation or studies, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the TxDOT West El Paso Area Office at 4201 Hondo Pass, El Paso, Texas 79904. To access project materials, go to www.txdot.gov and enter the keyword “US 54 Extension Project”. The proposed project is located within a PM10 Moderate Nonattainment area; therefore, the conformity consultation process was conducted. The project is currently under review by the conformity Consultation Partners to determine if the proposed project is a PM10 project of air quality concern and if a PM10 hot-spot analysis is required. |
