Virtual details The virtual public hearing will be available below beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 11 through Friday, Aug. 26, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.
In-person details Additionally, TxDOT is providing an in-person public hearing option for individuals who would like to participate in person instead of online. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation delivered in the online public hearing, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants, and leave written comments. The in-person option will be held on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022 at the ShadowGlen Golf Club, 12801 N. Lexington St., Manor, TX 78653. Displays will be available for viewing beginning at 4:30 p.m. with the formal hearing beginning at 6 p.m.
Purpose The Texas Department of Transportation is holding a virtual public hearing to discuss improvements to FM 973 from SH 130 to US 290 in Travis County, Texas. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comment on the draft environmental assessment and the recommended alternative for improvements to FM 973 from SH 130 to US 290.
Description

The proposed improvements include:

  • Realignment and widening of a portion of FM 973 by constructing a roadway, partially in new location, between SH 130 and US 290
  • Expanding FM 973 from two to six travel lanes (three in each direction)
  • Adding a grassy median and turn lanes in various locations
  • Adding drainage improvements, overpasses, sidewalk, and shared-use path

Leave a recorded voicemail at 512-394-4532 with your verbal testimony starting on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022 at 6 p.m. The access is available 24 hours a day through Friday, Aug. 26, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

Written Comments

Written comments can be submitted the following ways until Friday, Aug. 26, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

Memorandum of Understanding The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by TxDOT pursuant to 23. U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
