Purpose | The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) – Amarillo District will conduct a virtual public meeting for the 2025–2028 Rural Transportation Improvement Program (Rural TIP). The purpose of this meeting is to provide information and receive comments on which transportation projects may be coming to your area. The Amarillo District includes Armstrong, Carson, Dallam, Deaf Smith, Gray, Hansford, Hartley, Hemphill, Hutchinson, Lipscomb, Moore, Ochiltree, Oldham, Potter, Randall, Roberts, and Sherman counties. |
Description | The Rural TIP includes all regionally significant projects to be funded within a TxDOT District during the next four years, including those eligible for federal funding. As such, these meetings offer the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed priorities. A project in the Rural TIP is a project coming to your community. The Rural TIP is the first step on the road to producing a Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). A short presentation, exhibits explaining how the Rural TIP operates, and projects that are included in it will be available to view during the virtual public meeting. The Rural TIP meetings are being held pursuant to Title 43, Texas Administrative Code, Section 16.102, which calls for an opportunity for public comment concerning the program. |
Accessibility | The virtual public meeting will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the virtual public meeting or in-person option, please contact Jason Britsch, public information officer, Amarillo District, at 806-356-3256 no later than 4 p.m. CT, Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for the TxDOT to arrange. |
