Virtual details | The virtual meeting will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both audio and visual components. The presentation will be posted online by Thursday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m., and will remain online until Friday, Dec. 20 at 11:59 p.m. If you do not have internet access, you may call 325-676-6825 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to ask questions and access project materials during the project development process. In-person details | TxDOT is providing an in-person option for individuals who would like to participate in person instead of online. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024 The in-person option will be held in an open house format. In-person attendees will be able to view the same presentation provided in the virtual public meeting which will be playing on a screen, review hard copies of project materials, ask questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants, and leave written comments. |
Purpose | TxDOT is proposing to improve I-20 from west of the Abilene city limits to 0.6 miles west of Catclaw Creek in Taylor County, Texas. |
Description | The proposed project includes widening the roadway to three lanes in each direction, improvements to ramps and frontage roads, adding bicycle and pedestrian accommodations, and reconfiguring the U.S. 277/U.S. 83 interchange. The project area includes I-20 from west of the Abilene city limits to 0.6 miles west of Catclaw Creek, a project length of 5.32 miles. Although additional right of way would be required, no residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction can be obtained from the TxDOT district office by calling 325-676-6810. Any environmental documentation or studies, any maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Abilene District Office, 4250 N. Clack, Abilene, TX 79601. |
