The TxDOT Bryan District, the Bryan/College Station Metropolitan Planning Organization (BCS MPO) and the city of Bryan are developing plans to improve safety and mobility along BS-6R (Texas Avenue) from Old Hearne Road to FM 60 (University Drive). Potential improvements include reconstructing the intersection of BS-6R (Texas Avenue) and SH 21, raised medians to reduce turning conflicts, bicycle and pedestrian accommodations, landscaping and tree planting, shared use path and sidewalk along BS-6R (Texas Avenue). These improvements are being coordinated with additional projects taking place in the area.

The effort will be conducted in two phases:

  • North section: Old Hearne Road to 15th Street (Includes the SH 21 Intersection)
  • South section: 15th Street to FM 60 (University Drive)
