SH 6 Reconstruction - Gorman
TxDOT is proposing to make improvements to SH 6 in Gorman, from 0.18 miles north of Crescent Street to the Comanche County line. The proposed SH 6 reconstruction improvements include concrete curbs, gutters, and sidewalks added or upgraded throughout the length of the project. All sidewalks would conform to the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.
Project development phases and anticipated schedule
- Developed preliminary schematic designs for proposed project
- Conducted first Public Meeting: Nov. 15, 2018
- Began project design based on public feedback
- Reviewed preliminary design plans
- Conducted second Public Meeting: Feb. 19, 2019
- Incorporated additional public feedback and finalized project design: Spring 2021
- Began right-of-way acquisition: December 2020
- Contract Letting: Spring 2023
- Upon approval, construction begins: Estimated Summer 2023
Projected project cost: Approximately $15 million
