Purpose:

The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input on alternative alignments for FM 121, from SH 289 to FM 3356 in Grayson County, Texas. The meeting will be an open house format so the public may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions. Comments must be received by Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, to be part of the official record.

Description:

The purpose of the proposed roadway widening is to improve safety and capacity east and west between US 75 and SH 289, thereby improving mobility between Gunter and Van Alstyne within Grayson County. This widening project includes identifying, developing, and evaluating widening alternatives for engineering feasibility, selecting a recommended alternative, and developing environmental documentation to analyze potential social, environmental, and economic effects in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

The public meeting will present exhibits showing three (3) preliminary widening alternatives. From Preston Road, TxDOT intends to construct a proposed four-lane, divided roadway with a two-way left turn flush median to FM 3356 (west of US 75 approximately 2.8 miles), a total project length of approximately 7.1 miles.

Special Accommodations:

TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The open house will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call (903) 737-9213 at least five working days prior to the meeting. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.
