Notice Affording Opportunity for a Public Hearing – Red Bluff Road from Kirby Blvd to SH 146

Purpose:

TxDOT, in conjunction with the Harris County Engineering Department, is the lead agency proposing improvements on Red Bluff Road from Kirby Boulevard to State Highway 146, in Harris County, Texas. This notice is affording an opportunity for a public hearing on the proposed project.

Description:

The proposed project consists of:

  • Constructing two new eastbound lanes
  • Converting the existing roadway to westbound lanes, separated by a median
  • Adding a two-lane eastbound bridge with 10-foot-wide shared use trail parallel to the existing Taylor Lake Bridge

The existing undivided two-lane (one-lane each direction) bridge would be improved to facilitate two lanes of westbound traffic and a wide shoulder that could be utilized as a hurricane evacuation lane.

An additional 0.3 acre of right-of-way (ROW) would be required for proposed project; however, no displacements would occur.

Any interested member of the public may request a public hearing covering the social, economic and environmental effects of the proposed location and design for this project. Requests for a public hearing must be submitted in writing on or before Jan. 10, 2018, to:
