Description:

The project proposes to widen SH 99 from four to six lanes between FM 1093 and I-10 for a total distance of approximately 5.9 miles. The additional main lane is proposed to be constructed within the existing median. The proposed improvements also include an adjustment of ramp locations and the addition of right-turn lanes at various intersections. The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require approximately 0.96 acre of additional right-of-way. No residential or non-residential structures are anticipated to be displaced at this time. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for ROW acquisition and construction can be obtained from the TxDOT District Office by calling (713) 802-5269.

The proposed project would involve construction in wetlands and an action in a floodplain. Environmental documentation, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules and other information regarding the proposed project will be available online on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 5:30 P.M. and below under the Downloads section of this page. These materials will also be available in hard copy form for review at the in-person option, and at the TxDOT Fort Bend Area Office at 4235 SH 36, Rosenberg, TX 77471 and TxDOT West Harris Area Office at 14838 NW Freeway (US 290), Houston, TX 77040 between the hours of 8 A.M. and 5 P.M.
