Purpose

The purpose of the virtual public meeting is to gather public input on the proposed design to widen United States Highway (US) 90 from Interstate Highway 10 (I-10) to Farm-to-Market (FM) 1463 in Waller, Fort Bend and Harris counties. The virtual meeting will consist of a narrated presentation by the project team, project exhibits and other information, and an opportunity to comment. Comments must be received on or before Wednesday, August 12, 2020, to be a part of the official meeting record.

Description

The proposed widening of US 90 would include:

  • Reconstructing US 90 from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway with a raised median
  • Adding a center left-turn lane to the existing four-lane roadway with-in the City of Brookshire
  • Adding sidewalks, shared-use paths and/or bikeways to both sides of the roadway

Memorandum of understanding

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
