Public Meeting - I-69/I-610 West Interchange

Where: Bellaire City Hall
7008 South Rice Ave.
Bellaire, TX 77401

When: Thursday, March 3, 2016
5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Purpose: The purpose of the meeting is to present the proposed improvements to the Interstate 69 (I-69) South/I-610 West Interchange in Harris County, and to receive public comment. No formal presentation will be made.

Description: The proposed project would:
  • Expand one-lane connectors to two-lane connectors
  • Upgrade to current design standards
  • Add shoulders on I-610 mainlane bridge
  • Increase vertical clearances
  • Increase sight distances
  • Add detention ponds

Design changes resulting from public comments received at the June 4, 2015 public hearing include restoring access to Fournance Place and the elimination of the double u-turn at Bellaire Blvd. The project improvements are proposed to increase safety, reduce congestion and improve operational efficiency.

The project would require an additional 2.41 acres of right of way and would displace one commercial property.

Written comments must be postmarked or submitted through the website on or before Wednesday, March 17, 2016, in order to be included in the Public Meeting Summary.
