Notice Affording Opportunity for a Public Hearing - FM 893 (Moore Avenue) from CR 3685 to CR 79

Purpose:

The TxDOT is the lead agency proposing to upgrade Farm to Market (FM) 893 (Moore Ave) from County Road (CR) 3685 (Stark Road) to 0.2 miles west of CR 79 (Gum Hollow) in San Patricio County. The proposed project is approximately 1.4 miles long.  This notice advises the public that draft environmental documents are available for public review and that TxDOT is affording an opportunity for a public hearing on the proposed project.

Description:

The proposed improvements include:

  • Upgrade the existing roadway from two 12-ft travel lanes with shoulders to a five lane section with curb and gutter including two 12-ft travel lanes in each direction
  • A continuous center turn lane
  • Pedestrian facilities on either side of the roadway

Additional right-of-way (ROW) would be required for the proposed project. Within the project limits the existing ROW varies between 80 and 120 feet in width. To accommodate the proposed improvements the proposed ROW would vary between 100 and 130 feet in width. Although additional ROW is required, no residential or non-residential structures would be displaced. Information concerning services and benefits available to affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for ROW acquisition may be obtained from the TxDOT Corpus Christi District Office located at 1701 South Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78416.

Any interested citizen may request a public hearing covering the social, economic and environmental effects of the proposed location and design for this project. Requests for a public hearing must be submitted in writing on or before Monday, February 11, 2019 to:

TxDOT Corpus Christi District Office
