Several concepts are currently under consideration and TxDOT seeks your input on these concepts.

Description:

Project staff will give a pre-recorded project presentation with both audio and visual components. Please note the presentation will not be available on the website until the time and date listed above. The virtual public meeting will remain available online through the comment period deadline of Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021. On July 21, 2020, TxDOT's Houston District held a Virtual Public Meeting to present the US 290 widening project from FM 1371 to SH 6 in Washington and Waller Counties, and provide an opportunity for public comment. In light of comments received regarding the intersection of US 290 at FM 1155, TxDOT–Bryan district, in collaboration with Houston district, is undertaking a more extensive evaluation of the intersection to explore feasible options. Three concepts have been developed that address traffic congestion and improve safety at the intersection of US 290 at FM 1155.

The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potential displacements. Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program, services and benefits for those displaced, and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right of way acquisition and construction, can be obtained from the TxDOT Bryan district office by calling (979) 778-9607.

Any environmental documentation or studies, maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are available online.

Written comments from the public regarding the proposed project are requested and may be submitted by mail to the TxDOT Bryan District Office, Attn: Mark Poage, P.E., 2591 North Earl Rudder Freeway, Bryan, TX 77803. Written comments may also be submitted by email. All comments must be received on or before Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021.
