Purpose:

The purpose of the open house is to gather public input on the preferred alternative for the proposed grade separation of FM 50 at the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) crossing in Mumford, Robertson County, TX. The meeting will be an open house format so the public may come and go at their convenience, and staff will be available to answer questions. Comments must be received on or before Friday, May 17, 2019, to be a part of the official public meeting record.

Description:

Proposed improvements include:

  • Modified Front of School Alternative:
    • Construct a grade separated overpass bridge on FM 50 over the UPRR, and return back to grade at the existing FM 50 in front of the Mumford ISD Complex
    • Bridge would be approximately 2,085 feet in length
    • Roadway would contain two 12-foot travel lanes with 8- to 10-foot shoulders and a right-turn lane to Mumford Circel and south entrance to Mumford ISD complex
    • Approximately 22 acres of new right of way would be required; residential and commercial structures would not be displaced
