Purpose:

The purpose of the open house is to present the proposed project on SH 71 from CR 206 to SH 21 in Bastrop County. The meeting will be an open house format so the public may come and go at their convenience. Project team members will be on hand to answer questions and provide information. Comments must be received on or before Nov. 30, 2018 to be a part of the official hearing record.

Description:

Proposed improvements include the following:

  • Constructing new frontage roads
  • Adding a grade-separation over the FM 1209 intersection
  • Shared-use paths on both sides of SH 71 and FM 1209
  • Widening of FM 1209
  • Adding turnarounds to the intersection of SH 71 and FM 1209

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
