Notice and Opportunity to Comment on FM 1735 from SH 49 to 2.1 miles south of SH 49 in Titus County, Texas

Purpose:

TxDOT is proposing to reconstruct and widen FM 1735 from SH 49 to 2.1 miles south of SH 49 in Titus County, Texas. This notice is affording an opportunity to comment as part of the environmental review process for this project.

Description:

The project consists of reconstructing and widening 2.1 miles of FM 1735 to include two 12-foot travel lanes, a 16-foot flush median, and two 10-foot shoulders. It also includes upgrading the intersection of FM 1735 at SH 49. The existing right of way (ROW) varies between 80-120 feet, and the proposed ROW will be approximately 160-feet-wide throughout the length of the project but will vary in some locations.

As shown at the public meeting held on Dec. 4, 2018, the proposed project will require additional right of way in some locations and potentially displace three residences and two non-residential structures.  Relocation assistance is available for displaced persons and businesses. Information about the TxDOT Relocation Assistance Program and services and benefits for those displaced and other affected property owners, as well as information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and construction, can be obtained from the TxDOT district office by calling Kristy Fincher at (903) 799-1321.

The proposed layout for this project can be found below. You may call Katie Martin, P.E., at (903) 799-1342 to ask questions about the project at any time during the project development process.

The project materials are written in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to review the project materials or submit information, please contact Katie Martin, P.E., Atlanta District, at (903) 799-1342 no later than 4 p.m. CT, at least three business days before the date you would like to review the project materials or submit information. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

If you have any general questions or concerns regarding the proposed project, or would like to submit written comments, please contact Katie Martin at (903) 799-1342 or mail your comment to Attn: Katie Martin, P.E, 701 E. Main St., Atlanta, TX 75551. You may also email your questions or comments by email. All comments must be postmarked or received on or before Friday, Jan. 29, 2021.

Memorandom of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
