Where:

The pre-recorded presentation and other meeting materials are located below.

When:

Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021
4 p.m.

Purpose:

The purpose of this virtual public meeting is to receive comments on projects to be removed from the list of projects previously proposed in the 2021- 2024 Rural Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the Atlanta District, which was presented on June 25, 2020. On that date, the Atlanta TxDOT District presented the proposed 2021-2024 Rural TIP for its nine counties. The Atlanta District includes Bowie, Cass, Marion, Harrison, Panola, Titus, Morris, Camp and Upshur counties. The Atlanta District list of projects is now being adjusted prior to its approval and adoption as the Atlanta District 2021-2024 Rural TIP in March 2021 due to statewide fiscal constraint. The revisions to the list of projects presented in June 2020 will include removing five projects from the 2021-2024 Rural TIP. This will result in moving these projects from fiscal year 2024 to fiscal year 2025.

The projects to be removed from the 2021-2024 Rural TIP include:

  • CSJ 1575-05-016, SL 390 in Harrison County (From US 80 to I-20)
  • CSJ 0046-03-038, US 82 in Bowie County (From 0.1 mile west of US 259 to FM 992)
  • CSJ 0046-04-061, US 82 in Bowie County (From FM 992 to FM 1840)
  • CSJ 0046-04-062, US 82 in Bowie County (From FM 1840 to SH 98)
  • CSJ 0046-04-063, US 82 in Bowie County (From SH 98 to 0.4 mile south of I-30)

A presentation and opportunity for comment will be available. Comments must be postmarked or otherwise received by Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 to be considered part of this meeting.

Description:

This virtual meeting format (no in-person meeting) includes a pre-recorded video presentation and comment opportunity. The Rural TIP includes all regionally significant projects to be funded within a TxDOT District during the next four years, including those eligible for federal funding. As such, these meetings offer the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed priorities. A project in the Rural TIP is a project coming to your community. The Rural TIP is the first step on the road to producing a Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).

The Rural TIP meetings are being held pursuant to Title 43, Texas Administrative Code, Section 16.102, which calls for an opportunity for public comment concerning the program. A presentation and exhibits showing how the Rural TIP operates and projects included in it will be displayed at the virtual public meeting.
