Purpose:

TxDOT's Abilene District is conducting outreach to provide the public with an online comment opportunity for the proposed revision to the 2021-2024 Rural Transportation Improvement Program (Rural TIP). An in-person or virtual public meeting is not scheduled; however, the public is encouraged to view project information and submit comments about the revision by Friday, Jan. 29, 2021.

Description:

The purpose of the online comment opportunity is to receive comments on the revision to the 2021-2024 Rural Transportation Improvement Program (Rural TIP) for the Abilene TxDOT District. The projects that will be affected by the revision include:  

  • CSJ 0006-02-114, Rescheduled to FY 2022 new I-20 Interchange, Nolan County, construct new interchange at US 84
  • CSJ 0034-01-130, Added US 83/84 ‘Y’ interchange, Taylor County, Construct grade separated interchange at US 83/84 intersection
  • CSJ 0034-02-044, Added US 83 five-lane section, Taylor County, widen road to five lanes from CR 160 to US 84

The 2021-2024 Rural TIP meeting(s) was held in the Spring pursuant to Title 43, Texas Administrative Code, Section 16.102, which calls for an opportunity for public comment concerning the program. As a continuation of the public involvement effort, the online comment opportunity will offer the public a chance to comment on the revision to the previously presented Rural TIP.

Revision information will also be available for public review Jan. 14, 2021, through Jan. 29, 2021, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the TxDOT Abilene District Office at 4250 North Clack Street, Abilene, TX 79601. The public is encouraged to view this online information and provide input regarding the proposed revision(s). Written comments may be submitted online, emailed, or mailed. If mailed, written comments must be received or postmarked by Jan. 29, 2021, either in person or by mail to TxDOT, Attn: Billy Dezern at 4250 North Clack Street, Abilene, TX 79601. Comments can also be submitted by email. TxDOT will be accepting comments about this project until Jan. 29, 2021.
