Subrecipient Monitoring and Compliance Program

The Federal Highway Administration requires all State Transportation Agencies to monitor their Subrecipients for compliance with Title VI and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). TxDOT recently developed an online Subrecipient Compliance Assessment Tool. Upon completion, Subrecipients will be identified as having a satisfactory or unsatisfactory status.

Subrecipient Compliance Assessment Tool

This assessment is a first step for TxDOT to determine Subrecipient compliance, help Subrecipients understand their ADA/504 and Title VI responsibilities and assist TxDOT in planning future training and technical assistance.

ADA

The following surveys should be taken in sequential order. Upon completion of ADA Survey 1, a Subrecipient will be given a result of satisfactory or unsatisfactory. Follow the survey prompt based upon those results. Please note, ADA Survey 3 (Compliance Check) will be administered at the end of 18 or 36 months based upon the Subrecipient survey result status. See ADA Technical Assistance Manual for additional information.

Title VI

Upon completion of the Title VI Survey, a Subrecipient will be given a result of satisfactory or unsatisfactory. Follow the survey prompt based upon those results. Please note, a Title VI Compliance Check will be administered at the end of 18 or 36 months based upon the Subrecipient survey result status. See Title VI Technical Assistance Guide for additional information.

Alternative method for completing surveys

A version of each survey is provided below for Subrecipients utilizing assistive technology. If additional assistance is required to complete the surveys, please contact us at 512-416-4700 or email an ADA or Title VI Specialist.
