Purpose:
The purpose of the public meeting is to present the proposed project and route locations to the public and receive comments. Comments must be received on or before Aug. 8, 2018 in order to be part of the official public meeting record.
Description:
The proposed project would construct a six-lane freeway with ramps and frontage roads. Interchanges will be developed at cross streets, at US84 and FM 2641 near Shallowater, and at US 84 and CR 7500 near Slaton.. The proposed improvements would require additional right-of-way and would result in commercial and residential displacements within the project limits. Written comments may be submitted for a period of 15 calendar days, by Aug. 8, 2018, following the meeting by mail to TxDOT Lubbock District, 135 Slaton Road, Lubbock, TX 79404-5201, ATTN: Loop 88.

Requests should be made at least two days prior to the public meeting.
Memorandum of Understanding:
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
