Purpose:

TxDOT is hosting a public meeting to introduce the SH 34 Feasibility Study, review possible alignments and receive public feedback. Staff will be available to answer questions about the study. The meeting will be an open house format with no formal presentation so attendees can come and go at their convenience.

Description:

TxDOT is performing a feasibility and alignment study on SH 34 from FM 2578 in Terrell to SH 243 in Kaufman. This study will evaluate and analyze possible solutions and alignments for a four-lane divided roadway. The purpose of this study is to improve safety and mobility on SH 34, as well as address traffic flow concerns due to the growth of Terrell, Kaufman, and surrounding cities.

The meeting will be conducted in English. Persons interested in attending the meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs, such the need for an interpreter, are encouraged to contact the TxDOT Dallas District Public Information Office at (214) 320-4480. Requests should be made at least two working days prior to the meeting. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate these needs. Written comments must be postmarked by Friday, July 13, 2018, to be included in the official meeting documentation.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
