Culvert replacement begins in March

Work will impact US 59 traffic in Polk County

The project will affect traffic between Farm-to-Market Road 357 and N. Hickman Road in Polk County.

US 59 northbound will be reduced to a single, outside lane for northbound traffic. US 59 southbound lanes will detoure to the northbound inside lane while the culvert is being replaced.

San Augustine, Texas-based contractor AR Brothers will place signs alerting drivers about the upcoming work the week of Monday, Feb. 23. Removal of the current culvert is expected to begin Sunday, March 1, weather permitting.

Drivers should slow down when approaching the work zone and be alert for workers and equipment moving in the area.
