Culvert replacement project begins this month

Eight locations in the Lufkin District to be upgraded

LUFKIN, Texas - A project to improve drainage and replace aging infrastructure at eight locations in the Lufkin District will get underway next week.

Frisco, Texas-based contractor Icos Management, LLC. will replace eight culverts in seven counties. Weather permitting, this project is expected to be completed by later winter or early spring 2026.

The replacements will be done one at a time, with the FM 1818 work in Angelina County expected to take the longest. Traffic control will be implemented at each site before the work begins.

Culverts in the following locations will be replaced:

Angelina County
FM 1818 at Biloxi Creek between FM 58 and Hines Road
FM 2021 at Crawford Creek between Ransom Brown Road and SH 103

Houston County
FM 228 at Crawford Creek west of the Percilla community

Sabine County
SH 21 at Maddox Creek between FM 330 and FM 3448

San Augustine County
US 96 between FM 1277 and SH 147

San Jacinto County
FM 222 between SH 150 and the Camilla Community

Shelby County
SH 87 between SL 500 and FM 414

Trinity County
FM 3188

Drivers are encouraged to slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and obey all traffic control in these areas.
