I-10 Guadalupe widening project

I-10 from FM 464 and SH 130

The Texas Department of Transportation’s contractor has begun a widening and safety improvement project on I-10, between FM 464 and SH 130. This project will also include resurfacing operations, between SH 123 and SH 130, east of Seguin.

The project awarded to Webber, LLC of New Braunfels will cost $245,194,039 and will consist of reconstructing the main lanes by expanding the existing four (4) lanes to six (6) lanes, improvements to entrance/exit ramps as well as rehabilitation of existing structures and one way frontage road conversion. The estimated completion date is Fall 2029.

There will be three different closures during construction. Detours have been established to help navigate the traveling public through or around the work zone.

  • The access road along I-10 East, between SH 46 and FM 78, will be permanently closed in the westbound direction.
  • The I-10 East entrance ramp, from the same westbound access road, will be eliminated.
  • The southbound lane of FM 78, under the I-10 overpass, will be closed while the northbound lane will remain open.
  • The I-10 eastbound access road, east of Huber Road, will be reduced to one lane for 0.3 miles.
