US 77 from SH 71 to north of CR 156
Notice finding of no significant impact
Purpose | This notice advises the public that TxDOT has issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) for the proposed US 77 project, and that the FONSI is available for public review. The proposed project would widen US 77 from a 2-lane highway to a 4-lane divided highway from SH 71 to approximately 0.56 mile north of CR 156 in Fayette and Lee Counties, Texas. |
Description | The proposed project would expand the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided facility. Two 12-foot travel lanes, 10-foot outside shoulders, and 4-foot inside shoulders would be constructed throughout the majority of the project area. A median would be constructed to separate on-coming vehicle traffic and 12-foot left turn lanes would be constructed at multiple intersections to facilitate safe turning movements across the highway. Where right-of-way is restricted, a 14-foot dual center left turn lane would be constructed between the mainlanes. The Build Alternative is the Preferred Alternative, and it meets the purpose and need by improving mobility and safety along the existing corridor. The FONSI is on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the TxDOT Yoakum District Office located at 403 Huck St, Yoakum, TX 77995. For further information or to request a copy of the FONSI and/or approved final EA, please contact the Yoakum District Director of Transportation Planning and Development at 361-293-4363. |
Accessibility | The FONSI and EA is written in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to review the FONSI or EA, please contact 512-416-3096. Please be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange. |
