Virtual Public Meeting - FM 2061 (South McColl Road) from SH 107 to Trenton Road

When:

The virtual public meeting will be held beginning on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 6 p.m. and will be available online through the comment period deadline of June 10, 2020.

Purpose:

TxDOT is holding an online virtual public meeting to share information on proposed improvements to FM 2061 (South McColl Road) from SH 107 to Trenton Road in Hidalgo County. The virtual meeting provides the public an opportunity to view project related information and provide comments on the proposed improvements. Project staff will give a pre-recorded presentation regarding the project with both audio and visual components. Formal comments may be provided by mail, email, or voicemail as described in the notice. All comments must be received on or before Wednesday, June 10, 2020.

Description:

The purpose of the project is to enhance safety and mobility along the project corridor. Proposed improvements include constructing a raised median with left turn pockets at intersections and constructing continuous sidewalks along FM 2061 from SH 107 to Trenton Road,  approximately 2.8 miles. The project will require additional right of way to accommodate U-turns.

Special Accommodations:

TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The virtual public meeting will be available in English and Spanish. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call 956-702-6161 no later than May 21, 2020. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time for TxDOT to arrange.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 9, 2019, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
