TxDOT Paris District is proposing to improve US 82 from the Fannin County Line to Loop 286 West of Paris, Texas in Lamar County, Texas. This notice advises the public that TxDOT will be conducting an online virtual public meeting on the proposed project. All comments must be received on or before Sept. 9, 2020.

The proposed roadway includes:

  • Two 12-foot-wide travel lanes in each direction
  • A 10-foot-wide outside shoulder
  • A 68-foot-wide depressed median or a 16-foot-wide two-way left turn lane

Within the city of Paris limits, a five-foot-wide sidewalk would be provided at the edge of the right of way on both sides.

The proposed project would, subject to final design considerations, require additional right of way and potential displacements of residential and commercial structures.

Special Accommodations:

TxDOT makes every reasonable effort to accommodate the needs of the public. The public meeting will be in English. If you have a special communication accommodation or need for an interpreter, a request can be made. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can also be made to accommodate most needs. Please call (903) 737-9282 by Aug. 21, 2020. Please be aware that advance notice is requested as some accommodations may require time to arrange.

Memorandum of Understanding:

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 9, 2019, and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and TxDOT.
