Purpose The purpose of this meeting is to provide information and receive comments on which transportation projects may be coming to your area. The Lubbock District includes Bailey, Castro, Cochran, Crosby, Dawson, Floyd, Gaines, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Parmer, Swisher, Terry, and Yoakum counties. A presentation, materials for review, and opportunity for comment will be available.
Description

The Rural TIP includes all regionally significant projects to be funded within a TxDOT District during the next four years, including those eligible for federal funding. As such, these meetings offer the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed priorities. A project in the Rural TIP is a project coming to your community. The Rural TIP is the first step on the road to producing a Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.

The Rural TIP meetings are being held pursuant to Title 43, Texas Administrative Code, Section 16.102, which calls for an opportunity for public comment concerning the program. A short presentation and exhibits showing how the Rural TIP operates and projects included in it will be displayed at the public meeting.

How to make a comment

All community members are encouraged to attend the virtual public meeting and provide written comments on the proposed program. Comments must be postmarked or otherwise received by Monday, June 6, 2022 to: Texas Department of Transportation, Lubbock District, Attn: TPD Rural TIP, 135 Slaton Rd., Lubbock, TX, 79404-5201; or by email as described in the Notice.
